Healthy Lifestyle / Tobacco and Smoking
Transcript

The nicotine in tobacco can increase your blood pressure. Smoking injures a person’s blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening the arteries. Smoking increases your risks for both heart attack and stroke.
If you smoke or use tobacco, it’s time to quit. If you don’t use tobacco, then don’t start. Once you quit smoking, your risk of having a heart attack is significantly reduced after just one year.
